10 Years at Kinlan Brickwork – Congratulations, Charlie!

This year, we’re proud to celebrate a huge milestone for Charlie Rabone as he marks 10 years with Kinlan Brickwork.

Charlie’s journey over the past decade is a great example of career progression, hard work and the opportunities that can come from growing within the Kinlan.

2016 | Where it all started
Charlie joined Kinlan Brickwork as a Labourer on site, getting hands-on experience and learning the business from the ground up.

2019 | Labour Supervisor
Three years later, Charlie progressed to Labour Supervisor, taking on more responsibility and helping to oversee and coordinate our teams on site.

Night School | Bricklaying Course
Looking to develop his knowledge further, Charlie attended night school to complete a Bricklaying course.

The course gave him a stronger understanding of the fundamentals of bricklaying and combined with his hands-on site experience, helped him build the technical knowledge that would become invaluable as his career progressed.

2020 | Moving into Quantity Surveying
Charlie then took the next step in his career, moving into a QS role, where he also became responsible for booking in and coordinating work – building his knowledge of another side of the business.

2023 | Systems & Quality Manager
In 2023, Charlie progressed into his current role as Systems & Quality Manager.

Today, he plays a major part in how Kinlan operates day to day. He has been heavily involved in developing our systems and processes – creating many of them from scratch – and does a huge amount of work behind the scenes to make things as seamless and straightforward as possible for our teams on site.

From PRMs and regular meetings to getting out on site, monitoring progress and ensuring the quality of our work remains at the standard we expect, Charlie’s role now touches almost every part of the business.

From starting out as a labourer to helping shape the systems and standards we work to today, it’s been quite a journey.

And in Charlie’s own words:

“I genuinely enjoy what I do at Kinlan. Watching the skylines across the county change and knowing our name is on that work is something I find genuinely fulfilling. It’s a real privilege to help shape the places people will live and work in for years to come.”
